I can write full-length novels, and do any number of things well. But now is the time to be smarter than the dog.
Every day is an adventure. I’ve discovered this Havanese is a chow
hound. Maybe because he had others to compete with back home, so he
wolfs down his food and then wants to get up on the printer cabinet
where I’ve measured out the rest of his food for the day so I don’t
overfeed him.
He’s a jumper, so trying to jump on top of the printer stand, but he can’t make it. Thankfully.
So then his next goal–you see, just like in books, characters have to
have all-important goals–so does Max. His next goal is to get the trash
out of the wastepaper basket next to my desk. It’s mostly paper trash,
though I throw my used up green tea bags in there too. It’s empty as
it’s trash day, but I always line it with a recycled plastic bag. So he
keeps getting into the wooden receptacle and I put a towel over it.
Yesterday, I just put the trash can up above on the printer cabinet, but
then I can’t reach it.
Sooo, have to have another solution. He tried to
pull off the towel, tried to go underneath the towel, finally climbed
on top of the towel. With a new mission in mind. He could use this as
stepping stool to reach his food on the printer cabinet.
But the towel sank under his weight.
He’s not going for playing with his ball or chewsticks or rope pull.
He wants something different. So we went to down training and he’s doing
well. He still doesn’t go down on command, but he’s no longer trying to
grab the treat out of my hand. Maybe because I’ve switched the treat to
the other hand and he just has to follow my empty hand to the floor.
I will say that we had no accidents in his bed the last two nights
and I was working on a final Christmas bear order, I know I keep saying
that, but I keep getting last minute bear orders, and I worked so late,
he went into his cage to sleep. Woohoo! No fussing, just is totally
acclimated to it.
When I bring the other puppy home, it’s going to be a new day dawning.
I did get my word goal down for yesterday, and about 500 extra words,
but still about 2500 behind. Which is a lot less than I was behind. I
spent a lot of time getting packages ready to ship.
Are you ready for Christmas? I need to pick up some candy, but
otherwise, I’m done. Well, except for finishing the last bear order
and then I’ll ship it tomorrow.
It’s an Amethyst Bear like this one.
Off to work on the story before I run errands. Max finally pooped out. :) I think he was waiting for his training.
We had another fun foggy day.
Have a great Wednesday!

Last Teddy Bear of the Year! And Totally Goofy Weather!
The clan fabric was ordered in Oct, but never arrived, so they had to ship it again. So here he is, finally! And that’s the last of the teddy bear orders for Christmas. I have 3 boxes of bears to ship.
I’ll be making up some more bears eventually, just to have some more ready for orders next year. That’s the only way I stay ahead of the game–make them to have a back stock. But everything’s clean and I hate making a mess again so soon. Especially since I’ll have company again for Christmas.
I’ve been working a little on Phantom Fae. But I had 11 chapters to critique for one of the stories in the Kissing the Highlander anthology and then had to reread my chapters and upload them. So that took most of the day, and finishing up the bear and getting him ready to ship.
Now I need to finish the last 2 chapters and epilogue for my critique partner and make the changes she suggested on mine as she sends them to me. I’m also working on Phantom Fae, trying to get a 1000 words a day. Not as many as I usually try to do, but that’s because I’m still working on His Wild Highland Lass changes also. Once that’s finally done, I’ll begin formatting the anthology also for the 5 of us authors who are doing this together. So as usual, lots of projects going on!
Oh, and then before I know it, it will be the new year. And that means new deadlines all over again. Trying to get Phantom Fae done this month. :)
Anyway, I’m up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, so working on Phantom Fae edits!
If I’m not going to sleep, I might as well do something!
Ever do that?
Oh, oh, and I really should check out the weather from time to time. It was 75 yesterday! And this morning at 3:23, 63. By 8 am, it’s going to be 40 degrees. And the high today??? 48 degrees. Talk about goofy weather. And then??? On Thurs, 72, and Fri, 75. No wonder we can’t get used to the weather!
Have a super great Monday, 1st day of December! Have you got your month planned out?

New Releases! New Bears! Time Has Run Out…

Kiss of the Vampire is now available with its new cover. The print version looks like it’s still not available with the new cover. They said 3-5 days and it was uploaded yesterday. It is also available in audiobook and still waiting for the cover to change on that.
Kiss of the Vampire
(Blood Moon Series, Book 1)
Category: Fiction » Young adult or teen » Romance » Fantasy
The motto of the vampires is that humans have to deal with problems
on their own. But when Levka and his friends risk all to save human
girls, he is injured and so the adventure begins. A cruise. A human girl
who is terrified of water. And a vampire who has targeted her for his
mate. But she has some secrets of her own.
Forced to take a cruise ship to babysit her foster sister, Caitlin
has to face her own demons. But add to that her foster sister’s and her
friend’s antics and Caitlin’s inability to use her witch’s magic over
water and she has little hope to enjoy this trip. Until she meets a
wheelchair-bound teen and wants to make friends with him in the worst
way.
Levka and his friends make a hasty retreat from Dallas before the vampire elders stake them for getting involved in human affairs–again. But when he meets Caitlin on the cruise ship, hating that he’s so weak after being injured so severely that he has to use a wheelchair, he finds their troubles have just begun.

The Vampire…In My Dreams is available in ebook. I’m still proofing the print version. And I just signed up the narrator for the audiobook version.
Proving a guy is a vampire for the glory it will bring seemed like a good idea. At the time. Until he needs Marissa Lakeland’s help to fight the vampire who made him the way he is. No problem. She’s a witch. Witches can handle it. But vampires don’t exist, and there’s nothing in a witch’s training that deals with a creature that doesn’t exist. So using her wits, she’ll manage, right? If the creature of the night doesn’t get her first. As a centuries-old vamp, Lynetta doesn’t lose ever, and she doesn’t intend to now.

Call of the Cougar is now available in ebook. I’m still proofing the print version. And I just signed up the narrator for the audiobook version.
Call of the Cougar: Looking for love can be dangerous…
Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Services, Tracey Whittington, takes down wildlife traffickers and more, but what she doesn’t expect is to be in a shootout, multiple times, when the business turns deadly. Nor does she suspect she’ll be working with Hal Haverton, who serves as a part-time deputy for Yuma Town, Colorado, and runs his own horse ranch. As long as he doesn’t stop her investigative work—she has been placed on administrative leave due to the last shootout—she’ll be just fine.
Hal Haverton has every intention of keeping the wild cat safe, even if it means helping her to solve the case when every time he turns around, she’s involved in another shootout. When her boss asks their good friend, the sheriff, to have one of his deputies serve as a bodyguard for the cougar shifter, Hal’s all for it. So is the other deputy, but Hal’s got this covered. Even if getting somewhere with the lady means having his gun ready at all times. There are definite perks to getting to know the Special Agent better—if they live long enough to do something about it.

Still getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, since I have to have them early for my son and DIL and a birthday for my daughter. :) Some of them should be coming in today, I think. :) But at least the house is decorated, clean and it’s time to visit. :)
Oh, and a couple of new bears!
Have a lovely Saturday!!
I’m off to proof the rest of The Vampire…In My Dreams’s print version, then need to get to work on Call of the Cougar’s print proofing. I’m afraid with the kids’ impending visit, time has just about run out. LOL

Before! After! Renovating with Tile!

Still have some work to do today, then cleaning.
I have 21 bears made up, just need to do the finishing embroidery work, etc. And one in progress, another needs to be cut out, but made up the dragon cloak.
And I got edits back on A SEAL Wolf Hunting. Editor loved it! So just need to add a few more details on a couple of things, and then I’ve got to turn it back in pronto. Waiting on one more Silver Wolf Christmas beta read, then can turn it in. And one more Call of the Cougar beta read, and can publish. And two audiobooks waiting for review–Huntress for Hire and Her Highland Hero. *sigh*
So far the schedule for the first of the new books is: SEAL Wolf Diving, Feb 2016, She-Wolf Leader (titles to change btw), Jun 2016, and Jaguar Jingle Bells, Oct 2016, and Billionaire in Wolf’s Clothing, Feb 2017
And it’s 38 degrees this morning!! It’s cold, but I refuse to turn on the heat. It’s going to be a high of 65 today. That’s the lowest we’ve been this fall. Tomorrow, back to 73 degrees and then 78 the next day.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!! After he’s finished with projects today, I’m going to be doing a lot of cleaning. Dust everywhere. And I’ll be redecorating a bit later. I moved a big cabinet to another location, and so it freed up a wall and need to do something else there.
So what do you think?

Have You Ever Been to a Renaissance Fair? & Wolf Awareness Week Continues!
Going to a Renaissance Fair in Texas can be challenging–clothes wise. You’re trying to dress up in period clothes and its HOT!
Anyway, my son-in-law is dressing up for the first time, and I’m excited. I’m wearing cooler. :) I just throw some stuff together. We don’t go to them enough to pay a lot of money on costumes and I had a few things from some other events I wore, so should work. It’s the fantasy theme, so that should be fun.
Curious and interested in what was going on. Food maybe? They were fed once a week like they would be fed in the wild.
And it’s fun time with bears!
And pictures from the Renaissance Fair we went to a few years back. :)

Okay, off to work. Got Jaguar Pride final proof to review back and more beta reader critiques for A Silver Wolf Christmas, and more bear orders, and what am I doing playing around with pictures again???
I did turn in SEAL Wolf Hunting!
Have a great Friday! Happy TGIF!

I Wasn’t Going to Post Today Because I Have so Much to Do, But…
I wasn’t going to post today because I’ve GOT to finish A SEAL Wolf
Hunting edits today, turn it in and finish 2 bears by tomorrow at noon.
At least that was the plan. :) <3 span="">
But then I got this terrific review at Fresh Fiction, and one from
Angel’s Guilty Pleasures, and I had to share the steampunk bear and
sherbet bears I just finished for a couple of orders, and I just had to
drop in share about the spider takeover.3>
So here I am, and then I’m in the bear cave to edit!
Love this review!!!

A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is Book fifteen in Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf series. As always, Terry Spear balances great characters, eroticism, and high-energy story- telling to make a compelling read. A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is another story by this author that I was anxious to read, and sad to see end.
A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is both fun and exciting. The camaraderie between the members of the MacNeill family, and Guthrie’s bodyguard attempts make for some lighter moments. These lighter moments act as a nice counterpoint to the drama and danger surrounding Calla being stalked by her ex. Terry Spear does a wonderful job drawing both of these characters out and adding depth to them. Guthrie really surprised me by not being the crotchety spendthrift I thought he would be. Instead, he’s sexy and has a big heart. Calla is not a warrior or fighter but she stands up to her ex when he tries to push her around. She shows a strong character and courage. I love how Guthrie’s family welcomed Calla and made her feel like a part of their family — even before she officially got together with Guthrie.
A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is a holiday treat — a romance that sizzles and entertains. The familiar characters from previous books make a great addition to the story and don’t take anything away from the romance between Guthrie and Calla. I love this Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear and eagerly await the next installment.
And because it’s still Wolf Awareness Week–
Another lovely review: This one for Hero of a Highland Wolf by Angel’s Guilty Pleasures!

- 4.5 Highland Wolf Stars -
I love picking up any of Ms. Spear book’s. They always feel like a new adventure, with great characters and sweet romance. She writes the most interesting shifter characters. I especially love reading about her highland wolves. They are just so yummy.
Hero of a Highland Wolf is book fourteen in Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear. Hero of a Highland Wolf can be read as a standalone. We get humor, sweet romance, revenge and family.
I was pulled in from the first page. Really who can not be pulled in by brawny werewolves in kilts and nothing else. I’m a sucker for sexy highland shifters of any kind and when they are dressed in kilts only. Oh Baby! Let me get my fan. What does a shifter wolf wear under his kilt? You guessed it!
Grant MacQuarrie is the caretaker of Farriage Castle which Colleen Playfair inherited. Grant has some fears, so he hatches a plan. Let me tell you I loved this plan and got a great laugh when the plan does not work and the joke is on Grant as Colleen is best friends with Julia. This book is a lot of fun, the romance builds slowly with misunderstandings, danger and a rival. When they finally get together the scenes are smoking hot! We always get a great cast of characters in Ms. Spear book’s and this one is no different. I love the camaraderie of the pack’s and the ladies’ party was so much fun to read.
What I like best is you don’t need to have read each book in order to understand and enjoy them. If you have not yet had a chance to read this series, get started. It is well worth the time. Ms. Spears is a fantastic writer and her humor is wonderful.

Guthrie’s wildly attracted to Calla, except he can’t reconcile the fact that his job is to save the clan’s money, and hers seems to be to spend it.

We had tremendous storms last night and so today, it’s clearing and my workmen are coming back to do some more projects. The storm a couple of weeks ago took out some of the roofs off some buildings in Waco. Saturday’s storm, not sure. Last night was really bad again and it had me up and unplugging computers and stuff. Electricity went out 5 times. Another storm system coming in on Monday next week. But we’ve so needed the rain, I can’t complain and the temps are dropping, and I’m thrilled!Happy Wolf Awareness Week!

And this wonderful review from Jen on That’s What I’m Talking About!
http://twimom227.com/2014/10/review-a-highland-wolf-christmas-by-terry-spear.html
I am so glad to have finally been able to read Calla and Guthrie’s story. These two have been circling each other for a while now as secondary characters, and I very much enjoyed how their obvious fascination for one another played out. Although they’ve known each other for most of their lives, except for the time Calla’s family lived elsewhere, they really don’t know each other well at all. But, from the beginning of the book, Calla and Guthrie are revealed to be surprising and unpredictable, and it doesn’t take long for a grudging proximity to one another to turn into an undeniable and sweet attraction.
Although I’ve liked all of Ms. Spear’s leading clan wolves for various reasons, Guthrie may be my favorite of them yet. As the pack accountant, he’s more somber and analytical, as well as more skeptical and hesitant, than the other members of his family. Guthrie is lacking in the alpha-male blustering that his brothers have expressed so comically in previous stories, his drive to ensure the survival of himself and his pack dictating nearly all of his decisions. He’s just as strong and willing to fight as the others, but his approach is as much about purpose as passion.
