I was working all day on getting the ebook uploaded, and the print format done, still need to review the proof, once I get it, make changes, and send it in for review again and approve.

Hopefully it will be up in about a week. After it's approved, it takes a couple of more days before it is available. I just received the proof as we speak (you didn't know we were speaking, did you? Except I'm doing all the talking.) and that's my next job: re-reading the story today, proofing it.
Then I'm back to Falcon Fae. It just needs an end!

It is soooo hot today, and sticky humid, I feel I'm in the jungle. I know I'm supposed to be writing about Christmas for Billionaire, but I keep wanting to write about jaguars in the jungle. Billionaire has a deadline though. But maybe, I can write jaguar after that. I still want to write another polar bear shifter and my next Highland story.


I wish I could write faster.

The Magic of Being a Child

Corey wondered if Santa was an Arctic wolf after all. He’d wondered ever since a fake jaguar Santa had come to visit the kids at the jaguar shifter daycare and asked what they wanted for Christmas. He knew that Santa couldn’t have been real because Santa was from the North Pole and weren’t the Arctic wolves from there too? The jaguars he had met had never been in the snow, so it made sense.
And yet here it was Christmas Eve, snowing in Minnesota, and he was home with his family–his mother and father, his brother and sister, and his uncles. He’d asked Santa for one thing for Christmas–to be home with his family. And now he was.
So maybe the Santa in the sleigh flying across the sky, highlighted by the full moon, was truly the jaguar Santa that had asked him just what he had wanted for Christmas.
Maybe there were two of them. A jaguar shifter and a wolf shifter who brought gifts to all the girls and boys, depending on if they were a wolf or a jaguar. But he’d had the most special gift of all.  And this time it was from a jolly old jaguar Santa, who, with a twinkle of merriment in his blue eyes, had said he’d get his wish and more. And he was right.

Demetria  is feeling blue, but she and Tammy, Everett’s sister, get together for drinks and movies, but when one of the ladies drops a glass on the floor, Everett comes over to ensure the two of them are okay. So much for the start of his vacation. But he’s fine with it, as long as it affords him the chance to see Demetria again. Little does he know, the next morning when he gets a call from his mother at her jaguar daycare, their whole jaguar shifter world will change forever and he and Demetria will be given the assignment that will challenge them to the end in A Very Jaguar Christmas.

I’m still formatting for Kissing the Highlander. When I received everyone’s novellas, the italics were stripped out, argh, and some of the authors have tons of italicized words. That, and trying to make everything uniform as far as front and back matter and section divisions, etc. If I do this again, hopefully, we can all be on the same page next time and I won’t have to do so much reformatting.

And now I’m off to get to work on the formatting again. Feeling anxious because the time is slipping away and I need to get started on the next SEAL wolf book due Mar 1. And I haven’t started it. I’m trying to come up with a great new opening scene to set the stage. Must have first meeting soon, show something of the world, a wolf sighting early, conflict, mystery, romance and adventure.

When I was reading books on writing, one author said to make sure you have that conflict right from the beginning. The bomb going off in the school, but not. Something that makes you want to read what happens next and next and next. Yet, you have to have character-driven plots for romance, not strictly plot-driven scenarios.

Okay, so I’m still pondering. But I need to get back to formatting Kissing the Highlander.
