Stars of the Sea

This was a touching tank and we got to touch everything in the tank. Which was neat. When I have to describe things for a book, it helps to really know what things feel like. Like the rough starfish, or the soft anemones.
Or the smell of fishy salty seawater. :)

The water was warm and the room well lit, which makes for the optimum conditions for all of these neat sea creatures.

In New Orleans, they had a shark petting tank. The shark I petted had skin like sandpaper. :)

Have you ever touched the stars of the sea?

YES, When we were in San Diego we were able to walk along the Tide pools and find and touch the stars of the sea. It's pretty neat. I'm still fascinated by star fish. I have several star fish in my bathroom that no longer smell.

That is so neat!!! I'd forgotten about the tide pools when I lived in California. Loved going to the beach. :)

See you both need to come to San Diego. Visit the tide pools, the zoo, Sea World, and visit the seals in La Jolla.

We need to! That sounds like so much fun!
