Happy Hump Day & TGIF!

This is actually Happy Hump Day and TGIF and Happy Leap Year!

My sister was nearly born on leap year, which means she would have been a lot younger than me had she waited!

This just in from another reviewer for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing! Loved it!
"Former U.S. Navy SEAL, Finn Emerson had been aware of Meara Greymere for as long as he’d been serving  and working alongside her brother Hunter and that was also how long he knew that Meara was UNAVAILABLE to members of Hunter’s SEAL team. Plus Meara really seemed to have issues with his job and what it entailed, namely danger. With Hunter on his honeymoon in Hawaii, it falls to Finn to keep an eye on Meara when an assassin may be watching her as a means to get to Hunter. Should be a piece of cake, except Meara is on the hunt for a mate, and while Finn is definitely not a candidate, he is NOT thrilled with the idea of Meara sniffing around a bunch of unattached alphas.

Seriously, it’s like Terry Spear spied on my dreams of the perfect male when she put Finn on paper. A big, green eyed, blonde, alpha wolf shifter of a SEAL, if he’d been in a kilt they would have had to sedate me. She could have written nothing but Finn’s description on three hundred and fifty pages and I would have still loved it, but that’s not what she did. She crafted a wonderfully entertaining, thrilling, sexy action packed story with even more sexy SEALS. (umm, drool much?)

Even though this is book 9 in the series, Terry Spear makes this an easy stand alone read (although if you think you'll be able to read just the one, ha you're kidding yourself). This world of the Lupus Garou is imminently addictive and the characters are so diverse and interesting that is impossible to not be drawn in. Each story, though very loosely tied to the rest, is unique and brings it's own set of gasps and twists assuring that the reader never feels like they want to put down the book. For those who were waiting for more of the Greymere pack, rest easy. Meara does them more than proud.... she is an alpha and sister to the pack leader after all. She has no qualms about making her wants, thoughts, feelings and desires known in no uncertain terms. She lets Finn know, fast and in a hurry, that she doesn't consider him mate material anymore than he does her. Yay! You go girl! That's right, there's no unrequited pining from this lady wolf. A fact that rubs Finn's ego a time or two, I loved it. This book is just one more sterling example of Terry Spear's mastery of her craft and I congratulate her once again delivering an excellent book." Blue She-Devil

And I have to say that my publisher for Vinspire wrote to Phil Gigante, the voice for Moning and Feehan's recent releases. One of my library patrons nearly swoons when she talks about listening to his voice and I have to agree. I don't care what's written. I just LOVE hearing his voice. I'm sure he would cost too much, but wow, if he read for my books, I'd be in heaven!

Also, I'm here today, totally forgot! Got trips on the brain!

Highlanders on Audio???

It's not a done deal, and my editor said she found a woman who might be reading the parts, but I'm excited because it looks like the books will be coming out in audio eventually!!! What fun! I can't wait!!

Winning the Highlander's Heart
Escaping from King Henry’s advances, the Scottish Lady Anice falls into the hands of Highlander Laird Malcolm MacNeill, and murder and mayhem follow.

The Accidental Highland Hero
Lady Eilis Dunbarton’s life undergoes a drastic change with the death of her cousin, Agnes. Now she’s faced with the disagreeable prospect of marrying the man who was to be her cousin’s husband. Not by a change of contract, though. Instead, by deceit—pretending to be her cousin. But if her husband-to-be discovers she’s not really Agnes, her life is forfeit. So what choice does Eilis have but to flee? When Laird James MacNeill’s clan rescues a half-drowned lass from the sea, there is speculation she is of the enemy clan, especially since she doesn’t remember her own name. James is immediately enticed with the lady, but his focus must remain on finding the proper bride. For if he does not wed soon, he must give up his holdings to one of his younger brothers. Focus slips away with each day Eilis is close, and James finds himself contemplating the thought of taking her to wife without knowing her true identity. But how dangerous would the end result be? And what will happen if Eilis’s husband-to-be comes looking for her only to find her in the arms of another man?

And a great review from Larissa's Bookish Life for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing!
"
Now back to A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing, we met Meara in the third book in the series, To Tempt The Wolf. She is the sister of that book’s hero and was fascinating even then. I remember being intrigued by her spunk and sauciness and was looking forward to reading her story. We finally get it in A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing.
I bet it was so hard for Terry to create a character up to Meara’s standard, but Finn definitely fits the bill, ten fold if I may so. He is hot, smart, strong, determined and understanding. Despite being an ALPHA male he does know how to respect Meara’s wishes and tends to steamroll them in much lesser degree than most ALPHA males would.
I loved this couple and how much they fit each other, even though it took them long enough to figure that out. The intrigue surrounding them made for a very compelling plot as well and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing is a great addition to such an awesome series not to mention that it introduces more characters that I hope Terry Spear will not leave behind."~~Larissa

Well, Larissa's not the first one to say this (which is great and a lot of fun), but I still have 5 contracted books to write. However...it's looking like I'm going to have to revisit this pack again in the future! After a lot of folks have had a chance to read this book, I'll tell you a secret. :)

Off to another day of work, still not sure about what to wear in New Orleans. *sigh*

Have a lovely Tuesday. I'm ready to hear some Scots dialogue!

Cutting Up

My kids were having fun here at the wedding. :)

Okay, I'm off working on getting ready for the workshops next weekend, figuring out how to get there and all that sort of thing! Oh, and working on bear orders too.

I want to go to a writer's retreat that's really inexpensive west of Austin where you can ride horses and the whole shebang. Must find out more about it.

Working on the newsletter for next weekend as I won't have time to upload it and hope to send it on Wednesday!

Have a great Sunday!

When Clothes DON'T Make the Man!

Okay, so I talked about how a man wearing something shabby could ruin the whole appeal of the look. Well, then there are exceptions to every rule, you know.

And here's the exception. Holy jeans never looked so good on a man is all I've got to say!

But then again, I wonder what made the jeans that way? Girls trying to rip off his pants, or...a fellow alpha male wolf did it, annoyed that he was getting all the girls??

So women or wolves or what do you think?

My daughter and son-in-law are here, so I'm off to get to work on the newsletter and such before they wake!

Sara Humphreys did a great post about music and what inspires us... She's offering a giveaway:
What's the theme song for your life right now?
Post it here and I'll select one lucky commenter to win some bookmarks, temporary tattoos of the book cover of Untouched and Amoveo m&m candy.

I have to admit, chocolate also inspires me. And these are the kind of tattoos even my wolves can wear!

Have a wonderful Saturday! I'm off! We watched The Thing and Apollo 18 last night way too late. Both were stinkers. :)

New Jaguar Series Name!

A fan asked me what the new series would be called, so I talked to my editor last night while I was on a break during my vampire shift and since the wolf series is being called the Heart of the Wolf series, why not Heart of the Jaguar for the jaguar series?

So there you have it!

Sexy jaguar or hot wolf?

And here's a small version of a wannabe black panther living in the Florida jungle. Yep, where fantasy IS reality! :) TGIF!!!!!

Have a heart! Love a wolf AND a jaguar!!!

Off to work my last day of the week. *sigh*

More on our Jaguar Model!

More of our jaguar shifter model! He's using the alias of Todd, but we know he's really Connor in SAVAGE HUNGER. You know how it is. They have to keep a low profile.

He's amused in the photo because my editor is telling him how to act like a shifter, and he's humoring her. :) He already very well knows how to be a jaguar shifter. Prrr....

I have to tell you I was so excited to see that Savage Hunger is now listed on Amazon, somehow seeing it there makes it real even though nothing but the ISBN is showed, but I told my manager that I was stopping my lunch just to tell her that Savage Hunger is available! I handed her the slip of paper with the ISBN and she stared at me blankly and said, "You're quitting lunch because you have a savage hunger? I don't understand." LOL!!!

Anyway, I quickly explained and went back to finish eating lunch to get rid of my own savage hunger. :)

More super reviews! This one from Red Roses for Authors:

"This is a wonderful fast paced story that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. This one has plenty of hunky SEALs that will have the reader reaching for an ice cold glass of water to cool them off. This is another great book in the world of the lupus garous (werewolves) world. While a couple from an earlier make a cameo in this one it isn’t necessary to read the books in order though it does make the series much more enjoyable. For those that love hot SEALs this is one not to miss. This one definitely lives up to its title."

5 red roses, Anne Herries, Red Roses for Authors

Judith's review of Dreaming of the Wolf (Heart of the Wolf #8) by Terry Spear.
From the Book Binge!

Werewolf pack leader Jake Silver is an acclaimed photographer. He sees a beautiful woman at the art gallery where his photos are on display, and his intrigue turns into wolfish protectiveness. Alicia Greiston has never met anyone like Jake-he's sexy, alpha, and totally irresistible, and he calls to something primal in her soul.

It's a great day for wolf shifter paranormal fiction lovers when another of Terry Spear's "Heart of the Wolf" series appears. It is also another opportunity to check in with some of the characters who have been featured in other books in this series. However, this book is one that I particularly enjoyed because of the realistic content re: wolves as well as a new concept known as "dream mating" which Ms Spear has made a pivotal part of the love story between Jake and Alicia.

This is a story that is chock full of good stuff. Of course, there is the hunky alpha male wolf shifter whose brother is the pack alpha but who is an important individual in the pack leadership. There is the human female who attracts Jake and who brings out all the protective instincts in his powerhouse body as he finds out that this diminutive woman is a bounty hunter who has decided to take on some really heavy hitters in organized crime. There are hot love scenes and chases; intrusive federal law enforcement and local detectives who must be kept in the dark about the existence of shifters; there is the whole dilemma that the reader experiences as Alicia is "turned" and has to go through the first weeks as a shifter without any kind of guidance or information about her new life; and there is the whole shifter mating phenomenon known as "dream mating" and the connection between Jake and Alicia that is strengthened through this unusual process.

This is also a novel that grabs the reader from the very first word, that keeps the tension surrounding the crime figures at peak level throughout, and one which develops the relationship between Jake and Alicia relentlessly in spite of numerous ups and downs. There are surprises and some plot twists that keep the reader off balance. I certainly didn't expect some of the developments that I encountered. It is a story that is well written by an author whose command of the language enables her to craft word pictures that create this alternate species in such a way that it all seems so real and "normal." Alicia is a study--a woman whose early life and relationships have not been the best, whose own mother has not been a good role model for choosing wisely in regards to her romantic involvements, and one whose loyalty and close friendship with her mom have launched her on this path of finding and apprehending her mother's killers. Yet as brave and really well trained as Alicia is in many ways, she is also vulnerable and needing to find the love of a good man, one who will respect and cherish as well as protect and encourage her to be her very best.

Readers familiar with this series will also enjoy the continuation and involvement of Jake's brother and sister-in-law whose story were featured in an earlier novel. The strong bonds of family and pack loyalty not only form an important social structure in the novel but are an important factor in giving Alicia the strength to go through some daunting experiences as she becomes the target for the mob killers who killed her parents. All in all, it is a fine paranormal romance and is well-balanced between the suspense and the romantic aspects. It is one that has already become a favorite of mine and I am looking forward to reading more of this pack, especially Jake's brother Tom who is now coming to really desire his own mate after the experiences of his two older brothers. Something to look forward to, and as always, this author is sure to please.

Woohoo! Now I'm off to the long night at work and don't think I'll make it! :)  Too much late night partying with the Christian writer's group after making a presentation, which was a SUCCESS!

Many said they loved it, so that was great! But now I'm really tired and the day hasn't even begun. Somehow I have to make it through Friday.

Her instincts tell her he's dangerous...

While her overprotective brother's away, Meara Greymere's planning to play—and it wouldn't hurt to find herself a mate in the process. The last thing she needs is one of his SEAL buddies spoiling her fun, even if the guy is the hottest one she's ever seen...

His powers of persuasion are impossible to resist...

Finn Emerson is a battle-hardened Navy SEAL and alpha wolf. He's a little overqualified for baby-sitting, but feisty Meara is attracting trouble like a magnet...

As the only responsible alpha male in the vicinity, Finn is going to have to protect this intriguing woman from a horde of questionable men, and definitely from himself...

I got the greatest chuckle out of the pickle this otherwise competent and macho hero gets himself into. Doesn’t matter that he’s a Navy SEAL and a werewolf – all of his prowess and stealth can’t prevent him from falling in love. A man like him needs a woman who will challenge, poke, prod and thwart all his best laid plans and intentions. There’s no better heroine than Meara Greymere to get the job done and I enjoyed every moment.

It’s a great set up -- Finn is going to protect the baby sister of his Navy SEAL buddy from her wayward ways. No man is good enough to be her mate but does he really stop to wonder why every single male is suspect and why he has such a keen interest in being so ‘thorough’? It can’t possibly be because he’s deluding himself, can it? No way could it be because he wants her for himself. He’s much too noble and focused to fall onto that well trodden path of lovey dovey cooing like his friend. He’s made of sterner stuff. He’s a soldier. Yeah, right. I could see him falling hard and wagging his tail all the way with mock growling and posturing. I adored Finn.

Good thing Meara is a woman not easily thrown off of the scent and she gives as good as she gets. I had fun watching the heroine be herself. She’s certainly stubborn, feisty and opinionated. She’s a planner, that one. But she never ever could have foreseen the action and diabolical betrayals that blow her little mating plot to smithereens. Her reactions to the bad news as well as the good were fascinating to watch. She’s not a weak character and she took turns impressing me and surprising me.

The drama that starts the ball rolling happens pretty fast in the story. It doesn’t take long before Finn and Meara are on the run, not knowing truly who to trust. People they thought they couldn’t trust became integral to their safety and those they never gave a second thought to their loyalty got a rude awakening. It was sad, really. It seems like bad guys are the best actors because they have the most to gain and believe they can’t lose. They treat it like a cat and mouse game with deadly intent but enjoy the feeling of power they get from pulling the wool over their eyes. It took some delicate and timely maneuvering to get the players in place for the big showdown. The author did an excellent job of putting it all together, stringing me along and hiding who the true villains were until the last possible moment.

Wait until readers get a load of Bjornolf. You want to talk about a hunky guy with chutzpah and mysterious vibes? He’s got it in spades. What an awesome character to introduce and tease readers with. I hope his story is next because I’ve certainly taken a keen interest in the man. So effective, manly and maddening, he was a great addition to the story. And what he used to tie up the other operative? Oh yeah, I’m there. Any man that cheeky has got to have a story to tell.

As I’ve come to expect from Ms. Spear, when she gets her hero and heroine together it’s a sizzling good time with plenty of great point-counterpoint dialogue, sensual build-up and scorching delivery. The editing was perfect, the descriptive words painted scenes that jumped off of the pages and grabbed a reader’s attention. The action was tight and delivered with a high-powered punch. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from a story about a well trained Navy SEAL and I was certainly satisfied. So was Meara.

As for the happily ever after, it started off romantic and thrilling and then the author put the brakes on by making me laugh and giggle. Finn is SUCH a guy! See me roll my eyes. And you know what? It fit. Perfectly.

A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing is a non-stop action packed romance with kick, growls and sexy attitude. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough because there was so much going on, I couldn’t wait for what came next. A word to the wise – don’t start this book close to bed time, it’s too exciting! I also thought the guy on the cover with those dazzling aqua-blue eyes perfect brain-food for imagining Finn as he wooed his feisty heroine. Get your own copy and experience the adventure because he is as the story is, irresistible.

Thanks, thanks, thanks to Xeranthemum at Long and Short Reviews!

It's ONLY Tuesday???

I need a pick-me-up. Will he do for you???

When I was looking over Heart of the Highland Wolf's description of Cearnach, I found where I had described him in this way:

Yeah. :) So that's a glimpse of Ian's brother, the story I'm writing now. Cearnach's ditched his kilt for this shirt and...well, he hasn't quite decided what else to wear. Or, wait, I think he's getting ready to shift.

You see, he attended a friend's wedding, and the alpha male that's marrying her didn't like it...

You know wolves are pretty territorial.

Anyway, so there's shifting involved. Course, at the time, Cearnach's wearing one of those gorgeous kilt ensembles Donna sent me yesterday. Not this shirt. This must be later!

Hope you all have a great Tuesday. My week is too long what with only have Sunday off this weekend!

Oh, oh, and I had a little witchy bird tweet to me that she likes A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing. Can't tell you how much that means to me and can't wait to see her review!

Highland Wolf Wedding, Got Highlanders on the Brain!!! by Terry Spear

It's all Donna's fault. She sent me 3 of these guys. The first and the third to help me with my writing of the Highland Wolf Wedding. The 2nd is Duncan in Howling for the Highland Wolf. And the 4th is uhm, yes, well he is.

You see, she asked me where Cearnach was as I'm writing his story, and I told her he's dressed in his kilt for a wedding. So thanks, Donna! You gave me some perfect specimens to draw from! The scruffy and the unscruffy. The shirtless in shape and the shirtless in not as much shape.

All in all, I vote for the Highlanders! Yum!

Ready for some Highland loving???

Reporting Leaks and Calling the Police

Woohoo, I'm off today, trying to write up some interviews, but I wanted to stop by and say hi! And I needed today off!!!

It poured yesterday, and the next thing I knew, the roof was leaking in the library...again. So after calling about that, I had to call the police later in the day. Not because of the roof, though. LOL

We found out that you don't want to call the first person on the maintenance crew On Call list if you have building troubles if you're a woman. If the wife gets the call, she'll hang up on you. The second person on the On Call list said they don't come in over after hours anyway, because the city won't pay for it.

Okay, so we have an On Call list for after hours, why????

And our computers weren't working first thing in the morning...probably an electrical outage from the storms the night before.

It was a day and a half and...well, make it two days and a half all rolled up into one. And then comes Monday. Again.

Have a super great Sunday!!! I'm here today in the UK, so if you want to drop by and say hi at Lost in Fiction where I'm talking about being Lost in Romance, that would be terrific!

Off to finish an interview, and then back to Cearnach's story!

More Storms! More Work!

I just uploaded another lesson for my online workshop, and now I'm getting ready to work on the newsletter. Not sure if I'll get it out today. I have to go to work soon. We have storms again and that means my internet is iffy. So by the time I have the newsletter ready, I might not be able to send it. :(

But I'm going to try. You know what they say, right? All you can do is give it your best shot!

I have to say that people need to bathe. I was in close quarters with a patron who was having trouble with a print job, and another librarian was with me at the time. I hoped she didn't think it was me that needed to bathe!!!

We've had to spray the area or chairs that some patrons have used when sitting down at the computers, the odor is so bad that it lingers. It's not like any of them are homeless. They just don't bother to take the time to bathe.

When I write my historicals, my characters bathe. Even if back then they didn't. But today, there's no excuse.

I remember once my dad got a fancy bar of soap from my half-sister, and he commented that, "What, does she think I don't bathe and I need a reminder?"

My dad was the most fastidious person I knew. He was always asking, "Did you wash your hands?" Drove us crazy because yes, we always washed our hands before preparing food or eating. Then one day his mother visited, and always called him brother, because his sister did. "Brother, did you wash your hands?"

My sister and I began to laugh. She didn't know what was funny. But we sure did! Now we knew where he got it from.

When he was a prisoner of war for 16 months, some of the worst part of the imprisonment was not being able to bathe. The men were all crawling with lice.

Bathing won't kill you. But not bathing will about kill your fellow humans dead. So take a bath. You'll...well, we'll be glad you did.

Storms!!!

This is my daughter at a ski resort, which looks like fun about now, instead of in the rain and gloom (although I love it!) in Texas.

The biggest problem with rain is it knocks out my internet (and it's been so intermittent, I couldn't get logged in), so I'm trying to stop in really quick before I run to work to wish everyone a really super Friday!!!

I'll be working Saturday also, so hope to have the newsletter up on Sunday!

Yes...it would be fun to be sitting on a porch of a condo in Colorado, not to watch the skiers, but you know that's where the hot Silver brothers of Silver Town, Colorado are, right?

Yum. :) Here they are beginning with Destiny of the Wolf, continuing with Wolf Fever, then Dreaming of the Wolf. Next in the Silver brother series is Tom's story! And it's snowing!

Alicia Greiston is a no-nonsense bounty hunter determined to bring a ring of mobsters to justice. Her dogged pursuit of the crime family has forced her to avoid relationships— any man would only become a target for retribution. Luckily, Jake Silver is more than a man, and his instincts are telling him to stop at nothing to protect her.

AN ANIMAL PASSION...
However, the mob isn't entirely human either, and soon Alicia must flee for her life. When Alicia and Jake's passion begins to spill over into their dreams, Jake learns he will have to do more than defend her— he'll have to show his mate the way of the wolf.

In 2009,
TO TEMPT THE WOLF was nominated in the TRS Cupid and Psyche Awards and received Honorable Mention along with three NYT best selling authors and the winner who was a USA Today best selling author!!

So To Tempt the Wolf did really well!!!

I'm off to write!!! The awards will be announced on Valentine's Day. Lots of really big names! So it's great to see that Dreaming of the Wolf even made it this far!

Have a super Sunday!

Ready for Duncan, Howling for the Wolf!!!

Here's the model Sourcebooks is using for Howling for the Highlander, Duncan MacNeill, and you know he's fighting pirates on a ship in the Grand Cayman Islands! Of all the brothers, his name means dark warrior in Gaelic, and I think he looks that way, don't you?

I'm just getting the newsletter off so I feel I've accomplished something before I go off to the day job!

Off to work!!! Have a super Saturday!

I Need a Job Where I Work 2 Days and I'm off 5!!!

Wouldn't that be nice???

It's not like I'd be goofing off for 5 days. Really. I'd probably be working harder than I am now. But I'd be doing it in PJs for more of the time!!!

So today I'm off and it's rainy and misty and cold and wonderful! I have the final edits to Savage Hunger I've got to work on today, when I planned to work on Jaguar 2, but I did manage to add another 2000 words to it. I'm thinking of starting it all over again. :)

Sometimes I do that. I did it with The Highlander. I started from scratch and now am at 12,000 words. Sometimes a story is perfect the way it comes together, sometimes I have to revise it when I'm doing research and think, wait, I'd like to go in a different direction. But even so, I can often use what I've written earlier, but just at a different part of the story.

My problem is just that I didn't have any inspiration. So HE inspires me. The look, the physique, the look....yeah, I'm off to write.

Hopefully he'll inspire you on this beautiful Friday!!!

Have a super wonderful day!

I've Got Arcs!

No, not as in Noah's Ark, or the arcs in mathematics, or arcs of electricity, but ARCs, you know, Advanced Reading Copies of A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing!

I had only a couple the first time around, but I just got a few more in, so reviewers, I have a few to send...US only, if you'd like an early copy of the book to review!

And today I'm at Synchronized Reading with an interview! Thanks to Janina!

Yesterday I wrote 4,000 words on Jaguar 2. That's a record for me on a work day, and no, I didn't do it while I was at work. I couldn't even if I wanted to. :)

So I'm hoping I can get up to 10,000 on my 2 days off. Still have a number of guest blogs to do. You see, the problem is that I'm working at them, and getting them down to a more reasonable number, and then I'm signing up to do more! So that's the problem. I think I have 10 left, do 5, and have 10 left again. I know you're saying, so quit raising your hand! But, I'm having such a time doing that. I think, oooh, this looks like a neat place to write something...like commenting on USA Today's Happy Ever After. Or I'll be talking about teen movies that talk about love...I have to look them up because I can't think of the titles, but one is about a boy and girl who are just starting a relationship, and the evil vampiress next door wants him for her own. :)  He's so enthralled with the vampiress because of her seductive vampire ways, and the girl is ready to knock some sense into him, she's so angry. Perfect teen romance. :)

And I'm teaching two online courses right now. I LOVE teaching. It's a way for me to give back some of what I've learned. If it helps other authors to make it, and some of my former students have gotten NY book contracts, I'm ecstatic! Maybe I had a very small part in their success!

And here are three hunky men for sale, only $20 for all three! Okay, so if you want the even bigger version, they're $450.

But hey, they look like they'd be a lot of fun, don't they? Jaguars, right? Got to be jaguars! They love the water!

Could be wolves, they love the water too....but they look more like jaguars to me!

Oh, and this just up, Kindle Paranormal Authors, featuring exciting authors of the paranormal from around the world (that's me!) has featured Seduced by the Wolf on their side bar! Thanks to David Anderson, who, btw, has the same last name as my hot jaguar shifters. I wonder if he's related???

Have a super Thursday!!!

I'm off to...write!

I'm Really Not Totally Gone!

I'm just swamped!

I had several fun emails from readers of my Deadly Fortunes who are looking forward to when I can offer it to buy. I do have the cover picked out already.

And some exciting news--my editor has asked for some titles for the jaguar 2 book, so the first is Jaguar Hunger.

I need a dozen titles. You can send them to me any time. LOL That's your mission. If you choose to accept it, destroy this message at the conclusion of reading it so that it remains top secret!

And I have to share a Highlander that Donna sent me to make me smile while I'm swamped...

Super Fun Review from Romance Fiction, Suite 101, Jennifer Hastings!

Terry Spear has created a world that is familiar, yet different, in her bestselling paranormal romances where werewolf packs live unknowingly amongst us. The author has taken her werewolves from America to the Highlands of Scotland and now she's back with Hunter's pack in Oregon and telling the tale of his high-strung sister, an alpha in her own right, who seeks a mate for herself and seems to find about ten suitors too many.
A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing can be read alone but Terry Spear has been known to bring back recurring characters and knowing their back-story is invaluable. Past events and people are referenced and recognizing who they are and what they went through adds a certain familiarity to the story that I love. Specifically, A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing is book nine in the series, but Hunter's tale (and our first intro to Meara and Finn) occurs in book three To Tempt a Wolf.
Why Readers Will Love A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing
  • The Humor - Terry Spear has a unique talent for infusing her novels with wit and humor that is all her own. Specific scenes could cause a rare laugh-out-loud moment and if they don't do that they will at least put a grin right on your face. I personally loved the scene in which Finn is checking Meara over for listening 'bugs' and the two begin playing out a love scene for anyone who 'may' be listening. There is also the fantastic scene in which Meara comes home to find a very unexpected naked SEAL in her bedroom, the reactions are priceless.
  • Pack Loyalty - I am one of those readers who gets all gooey inside when a group of people come together for the sake of one. Werewolves, in most books, are usually like that but throw in a team of SEAL's and you have people literally willing to face a bullet for one another. That kind of loyalty always makes for some dramatic, heartfelt scenes, but in this crew that sort of connection also provides a strong base for a lot of the humorous moments.
  • An Exciting Storyline - The book begins with Finn bugging Meara's place because an unknown assassin is after her brother's SEAL team. He seeks to protect her while Hunter is away, doing whatever it takes, even going so far as to pretend to be her lover. Hilarity ensues, which is expected when you put such larger than life characters together and high-action drama follows the two as they avoid killers and their own emotions.
  • Love, Lust and Everything in Between - Meara and Finn are beautiful together; their chemistry is sizzling and their reactions to one another are instant and explosive. The automatic physical attraction between the two is intense right from the beginning and their animosity only a sign of their hidden feelings. The characters really play upon each others personality, bringing out the softer side of their hard-edged persona. The author writes sensual scenes for the characters to explore their emotions in, without taking them too far too soon, making that climactic moment all the more anticipated.
Overall, I liked the book and I love the series. Terry Spear has created a world that readers can follow along with as each new book is written. Favorite characters have cameos and new characters are introduced, which gives readers a long-lasting pleasure from the series that doesn't simply end when the last page of a book is turned.

Okay, off to more work!!!

Have a super Hump Day!

I'm Off to Battle!

Well, maybe not. But these guys look kind of ready, don't they?

Newsletter's off, workshop only requires a wrap-up lesson before it starts tomorrow, finished another guest blog, I still need to write 10 more blogs, need to write something for the workshop I'm presenting to a Christian Women's group, and need to ship off the author video I finally made after 4 attempts to do it right. One I did in my living room. It was nice and dark in there, but it turned out really grainy. So I had to do it in the foyer where it's really sunny. My laptop is destroyed....

So much for trying to fix the electric cord connection...$55, down the drain. So I have to buy another.

I'm ready to do battle...went to Best Buy Friday after work, and all the sale computers were sold out. So why did they still have then on display? I asked about 5 of them, so it wasn't like it was just one of them! They said they have a new sale today. We shall see if they have any computers available or not. I may have to order one on line. And then the stupid store wonders why we don't purchase locally!

And it's cold here! :)  Winds really blowing strong, and I don't want to go out. :) I need my wolf's coat to venture forth into the cruel cold world. Hey, it's been in the 70's every day! It's hard to adjust to 76, then 40...all in a day...

Have a super Sunday!

I HATE Losing Stuff

Okay, nope, not just stuff, but computer stuff.

*sigh*

With every change, I lose something. Well, I've lost lots of some things. Every time I go to do something, I realize just how much I've lost. The book covers for some of my new books. The video book trailers I recently made. Well, all of them, really. The music (free for use) I had downloaded for the videos. All the fonts I had downloaded to use on book titles, and whatnot. The paintbrushes I had downloaded to use on creating new book covers. It's all really time consuming and I have a slow Satellite, so downloading and transferring all this into the right places takes forever.

Why did I lose all this stuff? Because every time I have to change out a hard drive, something isn't saved on some other device and I've lost it.

The more I try to do stuff, the more I realize how much I've lost and how much I have to do to recreate everything all over again.

And I don't have the time. So it makes me sick!

So my word for the day is BACKUP everything you can think of, and that you can't think of, because you'll regret it if you don't!!!

Have a super Saturday! I'm working on the workshop I have to give next week, so back to the grindstone! Lesson 1 is done!

To Be Little and Without a Care in the World...

This is not me! I just learned I have a workshop to give all week next week. And I tried to say no to another group about talking about the publishing business because it's on hump day, middle of the week and I have to work the rest of the week...but the lady wouldn't take no for an answer. Period.

*Sigh* And I still need to do the video this weekend and prepare a workshop for next week.

And...well, I look at this adorable little girl, envision that's me in a fancy buggy surrounded by roses and a fantasy sky in the background, dressed to the Nines, and I'm just peachy. No worries, no stress. Mom's smiling at me from close by, encouraging me to smile, and I'm so totally clueless.

Yep. What a life!

Today is TGIF and I'm ready!!!!

If the little girl was you what would you be thinking? Let me OUTA here??? LOL

Have a super Friday!!!

Happy Hump Day!

He's not a SEAL, probably not a wolf, but maybe a jaguar??? Shifter, that is!

Woohoo, I got a great review from Synchronized Reading! What a way to go on hump day!

Title: A Seal In Wolf's Clothing (Heart of the Wolf, #9)
Author: Terry Spear
Release Date: March 1st 2012 by Sourcebooks, Incorporated
Edition: eBook

My Thoughts:
Meara Greyson is determined to find a mate. So while her brother is away, it's her only time to find one without anyone getting in the way, except for Navy SEAL and alpha wolf Finn Emerson. With all the danger brewing, which seems to be targeting Meara, Finn is determined to protect her but isn't prepared for the danger brewing while also dealing with the heat between the two of them.

I received this book via Netgalley.com, and am so happy that I did. I requested this book not knowing it was part of series. (Unobservant me. I saw a wolf and and Navy and clicked request!) So with that being said and this being the 9th book, I haven't read the previous 8. But when I started reading the book, I realized I could get the drift of what happened in the previous book. This was its own book and I wasn't confused at all with the storyline/plot of the story and after reading this book, I definitely need to read the other 8, since this one was so good!

On to the review...

I really loved all the characters in this book. Meara, Finn, Hunter, Rourke, and everyone in the SEAL team. Finn and Meara are by far my favorite. I love the relationship they started out with, and I love the relationship they ended with. They started off a little rocky. Meara with her feisty attitude and Finn with his dominant take on issues that dealt with her. But from the very beginning you could tell they had a chemistry with each other that they where both skeptical to pursue, which I loved by the way. At the end... So happy!

Hunter was your typical big brother and he prayed the role exceptionally. I really like Hunter. Rourke was kind of dorky to me, but that is what made me love him. The SEAL team, especially Anna, all made me laugh. Even though Anna wasn't an "official" member of the team, she was my fave within them. Bjornoff (definite spell check there. Don't have my kindle beside me..) was something else. He made me laugh, especially when he got socked in the face! His response was too funny!

This book was filled with action, which by now you guys know is a major point I love in a book. This book was definitely a page turner. Filled with romance and filled with action. I am undeniably a werewolf kind of girl. But the ending of this book shock me. I did not expect so and so (Lol) to be apart of it! I was like what? Nooo? Not you, why you... Great ending!

Overall this book was very enjoyable. It was a pleasure to read and I did not want to put it down. If you are a paranormal romance and a werewolf fan, you should really read this book!

Thanks to Janina!

Have a super hunky hump day!
