It's time to celebrate, so let the party begin!

Today is my FIRST blog stop tour and I'm at Thoughts in Progress talking about the process of characterization and coming up with names in HEART OF THE HIGHLAND WOLF!! And I have a question concerning a character's name--who has the answer?

I am giving away a free copy of HEART OF THE HIGHLAND WOLF at Thoughts in Progress! Just drop by on Mason's blog and comment!

I'm off to work so don't get too rowdy until I can rejoin you, okay??? :)

Kitty Cat Claws

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2687/4219525707_bd88869825.jpg

I was writing about one of the jaguars and her claws and thought I'd better get a good look at them from afar...in a picture. :) So I could visualize them better. Oh, I know, this is not a spotted cat but a striped cat, but they're both BIG cats, and this one had such a good shot of it's claws, I couldn't help myself.

Ever have a kitty cat? Their claws are wicked enough!!!

Can you imagine facing these claws? Don't worry though. You wouldn't even think of the claws once you saw the jaguar's teeth. :)

With that last thought, I'm off to write more about kitty cat claws, of the really big variety!!!

Have a super Monday!!! And remember, tomorrow, May 31, I'll be at the SciFi Guy's spot and Thoughts in Progress for giveaways!!! Woohoo! I was supposed to be off tomorrow because it's my birthday, but we're going to be so busy what with the holiday right before Tuesday, that I told everyone I'd work and take off Wednesday to celebrate with my daughter instead.

And you know what? Not only did my coworkers get me flowers and a cake last week, they're buying a pizza for Tuesday! Isn't that great? It's going to be a beast of a day because of it being a Tuesday after a 2-day holiday, but that will make it so much nicer!

Lisa Robbins has one mission in mind--sell back her UNUSED wedding dress to the wedding shop, but when she has no success, maybe she's going about this all wrong.

Peter Crawford is intrigued by the woman who has somehow hooked Dallas's most eligible confirmed bachelor, Pembrooke Hastings, Peter's staunchest enemy. Not only had she gotten a commitment from him, but she left HIM standing at the altar. Dating the vivacious woman certainly appeals and Peter wants to know just how she hooked Pembrooke, but also why she didn't marry him.

Lisa Robbins is not dating and not marrying anyone, so she assures herself, her family, and her boss. But when Peter takes an interest in her, she's wondering just what to do about Dallas's most eligible confirmed bachelor number two, when he just won't take no for an answer.

I'm off to post the newsletter! I did get the edits and cover done on this book yesterday, but there was a glitch on uploading it on Smashwords. So it's up, and it should be up on Kindle and B&N shortly.

The AC man was here from 11-11 yesterday, but now it's in and working!!! It was 97 yesterday, so I really needed the AC!!

I had written several shorter stories for a line called Flipside, but it went out of business. This is one, and I had written a really cute Marriage, Las Vegas Style, that I finally found on a disk.

Which is one reason I'm uploading my stories. So I don't lose any of them anymore. I lost another fae story. It was really good, and would have made a nice addition to THE DARK FAE, which is doing really well. It kills me when I lose whole novels like that!

I do have THE SHADOW ELF, that I'm revising, and I do have a marriage of convenience story that I'm reworking. But I still am annoyed that I don't have the other stories. I had another too, that was a historical that I loved that I saved to a disk, but it was corrupted and so word count is "0"...grrr!

Anyway, I'm off to work on Jaguar! Got 4 blogs done, need to do another for next week for Casablanca for the new release of HEART OF THE HIGHLAND WOLF, and even though it's hot, hot, hot outside, I'm cool, cool, cool, inside....so nice to write about the hot jungle when I'm nice and cool!

Have a terrific Sunday!

Woohoo! It's Saturday!

And I can sleep in! So what do I do? I wake up, and can't sleep. At 3:30. Grrr.

The AC man is replacing my AC this morning. Supposed to be here by 8 or 9. Watch him not show up until 12 or so.

But in any event, I'm ready for AC. It's very hot this morning. So as soon as my AC is on, I can toss my fan. Yes, of course this is me. :) Back in time....right.

And my good friend and critique partner, who I went with to Scotland last year, went with her husband this year and says it's cold and rainy and windy and I wish I was there!

Cold, wind, rain all sound great about now!

Well, we have the wind. So I could do without that.

Today is my very EARLY start to a mostly 3-day weekend. Mostly, because I do have to go into work for a couple of hours on Monday. So I'm off to try to write the blogs I need to for the blog tour, get the newsletter ready to go, and write some more on Jaguar, and I'm working on a fun story I wrote some years ago for Flipside. But their line closed down, so I never had a chance to sell it to the funny line. It's a humorous long short story about a woman who stands her groom up at the altar, for good cause. But then what does she do with the wedding gown when the store absolutely refuses to take back a USED wedding gown?

But she didn't even wear it! :) The story is called EXCHANGING GROOMS. :)

Hope you all have a super Saturday!!! I'm off to have fun!

OMG it's Friday!

Now, you would think that was the good news, right? Well, it isn't when you think you've awakened to a Saturday and you have the day off. :)

Yep, I was sooo tired this morning, I was sure that today was Saturday and when I looked at the clock for the first time ever, I was going to "sleep in." And then the horrid realization shook me that it wasn't Saturday at all. And we are REALLY short handed today, so there wasn't any way I could take off from work today. And I had to get up and face the Friday instead of the blessed Saturday!

Okay, so I'm still trying to get over the fact I've got my days so mixed up and get it in gear to celebrate TGIF-instead of TGIS. *sigh*

Have you ever done that? Woken up to the wrong day?

It was the long night at work. Totally wore me out!

Have a super whatever the day is!!!

A Tale of Two Rocks

One of my co-workers told me a sweet romantic tale of two rocks yesterday and I had to share it.

Her brother has a garden of rocks and he said when friends and family come to visit, they get to select a rock to represent him or herself, so select a rock. So she called her husband and he didn't want to leave the house to pick out a rock for himself, so she did, and set them apart just where she wanted in her brother's rock garden.

"Don't you want to put them closer?" her brother asked.

"I'm not a clinging vine," she said.

So he left the rocks where they were, and there they sat adrift from each other for eons.

Then her brother called her yesterday with a new development. Torrential rains had eroded his rock bed and in the upset, she and her husband's rock had moved together and were now snuggling against each other.

The moral of the story is: If you can weather the storms, you'll be just that much closer in the end.

What do you think?

I say: Rock on!

Oh, and Heart of the Highland Wolf ranked below 100 yesterday in sales!! Woohoo! So did The Dark Fae!!

Have a super Thursday!!!

New Bug Catcher!

Everyone should go green. Yep. No more pesticides needed here. Just ye ol' feathered friends.

He's not mine, but my next door neighbor's. They've scared me a time or two coming out of my shrubs when I didn't know they were there. But I had fun catching him on my camera happily eating away at the bugs that flock around my security light at night. :)

Just don't let my wolves know he's about! He was trucking it out of my yard and so he was a little blurry...but he was welcome to eat his fill of all the bugs in my yard. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lisa has lived all over the States, but when she starts working in Amarillo, Texas, she's ready to settle down with the man of her dreams--if she can prove to herself she has the mettle to become a Texan.

From camping in the Palo Duro Canyon with rattlesnakes and scorpions and wild mustangs, riding the trail on a cantankerous trail horse, line dancing, and watching a friend devour a 72-oz steak, Lisa's having the fun of her life...mostly.

But can she learn to be a Texan? Inspired by several true incidents, the story revolves around a woman who's never settled down for long and a man who wants her to love his home as much as he does...fearing she's bound to leave him sooner or later as she has never been able to set down roots.

***
The story about the wild mustangs was true, only I'd heard them when I was camping in the canyon with Army ROTC cadets, and I've been to all the places described in the story. The only thing that I still need is that tall hunky Texan!

Wouldn't you like a shot at him too???

:)

Have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Renn Faire, Part II

I was wearing something entirely different when I arrived at my daughter's apartment. But she said I didn't look Renaissance enough. Well, I didn't want to tell her this wasn't a Renaissance look either, but even so, I did look more authentic as something that would fit into the wild looking costumed people who were there. :) So it worked. And it was fun.

The velvet vest she was wearing, we picked up some years ago at a Highland shop, but it's perfect for pirating and all kinds of worthwhile causes.

In any event, we had a ball!

Next weekend, it's all writing--and that will be fun too!

Have a super Monday!!!

Any plans for Memorial Day weekend?

The Renn Faire

We had fun watching the knife throwing show, the whip shows, listening to the various musicians playing on different kinds of medieval instruments, the harp, and even glassware.

The gyros were great and we had ice cream to cool ourselves down.

I found this guy hugging the women, but of course I wanted a picture of him all on his own. He was making a growly face. About the time I was trying to take the darn picture, my camera wouldn't do anything. Apparently when I put it in my bag, the setting had changed to video mode.

Anyway, my daughter said he bent over to hug someone and had nothing on underneath that skimpy leather flap. So dream away...

Now I'm back to working on Dreaming of the Wolf edits! Have a lovely rest of the weekend!!!

And Dark Fae actually went to #21 in the UK!! Woohoo!
