Have You Ever Thought...

...you had reached the end of something? That you were completely done with a project? Ready to receive guests? Get on the road? Ready for work, or school, or something? And then found out you had to do one more thing? Or lots more things before you were REALLY done?

I thought I had finished Dreaming of the Wolf. Really I did. I wrote THE END, the acknowledgements, the dedication, the author bio. All the stuff that means I finished the book! Not that I won't be reading it over a couple of more times to make sure I'm really finished with it before I send it in.

But then here is a slip of a typewritten page I'd missed, that had some changes added in, and my trademark NOTE TO SELF, when I needed to add something in. Had I added it in? I figured I had. I thought I had. I hadn't.

What was the note? MAKE LOVE

You see, I had written that at another point in the manuscript too. And I had gone back and written that scene. So I thought that was it.

Would anyone miss it?

Probably. :) So the book is almost done. And I don't even have to write THE END now, because I have written THE END!

It's like all the guest author blogs I'm trying to get done. I had 10 to go, and then I did another 3 and somehow managed to have 13 to go. Hmmm. Sure, some had been added since I made the list...but that many? I'm back down to 10. And one of these days, I'll really be at THE END. Until the next book, and the next blog tour.

But the good thing about all of this is that it's really fun. Not like, let's say--weedeating the yard. Which is a neverending never-THE END-job.

So here is:

in anticipation of writing that last scene! Which will be fun to write anyway! It's almost THE END after all. :)

Have a terrific day!

LOL, I did it, I did it! Or, ahem, Jake did it. Anyway, it's done! Finished. Well, except for one little thing that I need to add in. Otherwise, it's truly THE END!

It's good to hear that you're really done this time. In my case of thinking I'm done with something and not, it's usually the dishes or the landry. I'll have my house all spic and span and then after showers and dinner, there's a full load of laundry and a full sink of dishes. Sometimes I think I should invent disposable clothes. Have you ever been so sick of laundry that you would rather throw out everything in the hamper and get new stuff instead of having to wash another load? There are 5 of us, so I usually have to do 2 loads a day to keep up. *sigh* If I hit the lottery, I'm going to hire someone just to do the laundry. haha

When your kids are old enough, teach them to do their own laundry. :) They'll thank you for it later! :) My biggest problem is keeping up with the yard. I finally got a weedeater that works, finally got the mower to start, managed to pull weeds in my jasmine, and am still making a tiny bit of headway. But with working so much, it's really, really hard to keep up with it. And....I pull 100 weeds, a 300 more take their place. If it wasn't so hot, I'd plant some more jasmine in the bare spots that leaves. But I'm afraid I won't have time to water them enough. But I know what you mean... the thankless chores never get done!
